Class of 2018 Point/Combo Guards (6 feet and Under)
Here is a look at the top Class of 2018 point guard/combo guards in the Show-Me State that are 6’0″ and under.
Damien Daniels 5’8″ Hogan Prep: The dynamic point guard who excels in transition and scores at the rim with fearless drives in the land of the giants. Poised for a huge senior year after leading Hogan to a Class 3 Final Four berth. Holds several new Division II offers after the summer.
Jalen Lewis 5’10” Liberty: A sweet shooting point guard who enjoyed a big summer with Team Rush, which led to a number of new offers, including his first Division I offer from SEMO. He’s already one of the top career scorers at Liberty High. He has good handles and can pass it to go along with his excellent shooting skills.
Diego Bernard 6’0″ St. Joe Lafayette: A highly athletic and competitive guard who attacks opponents on both ends of the court. He attacks the rim with passion, but has an improved 3-point shooting stroke to make him a tougher cover. He recently gave a commitment to NCAA Division II champion Northwest Missouri State.
Deandre Campbell 6’0″ Parkway Central: A very stout point guard who loves to draw contact with his physical drives to the basket. Has been a big scorer throughout his high school career. Led the Colts to the Class 4 Final Four as a junior. Earned a Division I offer from Army after a productive July with the Ramey-Jets United.
Jordan Walton 6’0″ Glendale: A slick ball handling point guard who can create for his teammates with his passing. He is an excellent knock down shooter from 3-point range. He does an excellent job coming off screens to make perimeter jumpers with his quick release.
R.J. Lawrence 5’10” Blue Springs: An impressive scoring threat who has showcased the ability to score at all three levels. His 3-point range and ability to score off the bounce enables him to put up points in bunches. He displayed some good passing ability during July when he played with Team Rush.
Landon Harrison 5’10” Helias: A high-energy point guard who put up some big scoring numbers during his junior year, including a few 30 and 40-point outings. He likes to attack the basket with fearless drives and he’s constantly improved his 3-point shooting. Has a couple of offers from Division II schools.
Kyle Younge 5’9″ Jennings: A fearless point guard who led the Warriors to the Class 4 state quarterfinals as a junior. He has the ability to facilitate, but he will get plenty of buckets when the time comes. He has delivered some big scoring nights in big moments. He has received some Division II interest at this point.
Deron McDaniel 6’0″ O’Hara: An excellent two-way point guard who enjoyed a big month of July with NdaGym. He is quick with good handles and a strong 3-point shooter. He also gave an excellent effort on the defensive end as he was not afraid to pick up opposing ball handlers.
Brandon Frederick 5’9″ Confluence Academy: He’s more of a shooting guard in a point guard’s body, but this young man can really put the ball in the basket. He is an excellent 3-point shooter who can get it done off the catch and off the dribble. He is quick with a nice set of handles, which enables him create space for his jumpers.
Mike Sanders 5’10” SLUH: A solid point guard who enjoyed a very productive July for the St. Louis Shooting Stars as they posted some big victories. He was always a very good 3-point shooter off the catch, but he really displayed his point guard chops as a floor leader and facilitator.
