Cincy’s Up and Coming: 15U
After looking at 17U and 16U athletes from the Cincinnati area who are rising fast, let us last but certainly not least look at those 15U athletes who excelled this season. These ae names that you will definitely want to track going into the prep season:
Evan Prater 6’4 G/Ohio Basketball Club-Wyoming High School
This sophomore showed a lot of versatility to his game over the summer for OBC. With his length and athleticism Prater showed the ability to guard multiple position on defense while also playing the passing lanes well. A very effective driver of the ball on the offensive end, Evan does a good job of finishing with both hands around the rim. Look for him to be a key contributor for the Cowboys this upcoming season.
Nekhi Smith 6’5 F/Cincy Rise-Hughes STEM High School
Despite playing on a team that was an age group up this summer, Smith had a very solid summer for the Rise. While already possessing a nice jump shot out to 17ft, Nekhi also this summer showed some dribble drive ability as well. Combine that with his rebounding ability, on the offensive end, and Smith has a lot of momentum going into the season.
Aaron Ward 6’6 F-PF/All Ohio Elite-Princeton High School
This young fella right here is a grown man. Ward already has the build of a D-I athlete and has game is becoming just as big. He is already a very effective shooter from 15-18ft but can also drive the ball from that area as well. Aaron also finishes well through contact and has the athleticism to finish above the rim. This sophomore has the potential to make a major impact on what is a very talented Princeton team come December.
Mark Wise 6’2 G/All Ohio Elite-Deer Park High School
Another All-Ohio Elite player who had a really nice summer. Wise showed why he so hard to cover with his size/strength combination. Mark does a really good job of using his body to get in the lane and draw contact. Showed the strength this summer to finish through contact as well. In addition, Mark does a good job of good others involved as well and can play off the ball also.
