Changes in the Pee Dee
The Pee Dee Region of the Palmetto State has had quite a few changes in the past year. Plenty of players have looked to move on to different school situations.
Sharone Wright Jr. (2018) has packed up and headed up to Greenville, SC and Legacy Early College. Wright who played at West Florence HS has already committed to Wake Forest University.
Travion McCray came out a week ago announcing that he would reclassify and move up to Village Christian in Fayetteville, NC for next season. McCray now will be in the 2019 class. McCray has played at Timmonsville HS and West Florence HS this past season. McCray plays AAU with the Karolina Khaos. McCray recently a offer from Longwood University.
Ryan Carfley (2018) and Darius Rhodes (2018) have both moved into Wilson HS for this coming season. Carfley 6’9 played last season at Marion HS while Rhodes was at Hartsville HS.Carfley recently received a offer from Coker College (NCAA D2). Carfley started off at Creek Bridge HS.
Jordan Burch (2020) left Wilson HS this summer to enroll at Hammond (Columbia). Burch a left-handed physical specimen is in his 3rd school in 3 years. Burch played varsity basketball at South Florence HS as a 8th grader. Burch will play football and basketball for the Skyhawks.
Jordan Jones left South Florence HS and traveled over to Darlington to play Trinity-Byrnes. Jones (2020) saw great minutes last season for the Bruins.
Plenty of changes have taken place in Florence this year and outlook right now looks like Wilson HS out and South Florence HS and West Florence HS trying to catch up.
Wilson HS will have Alex Caldwell (2018), Jamontay Williams (2018) and Allen Williamson (2019) all back in the lineup for the Tigers this season.
West Florence HS Knights will have a heavy load on Juan Perez (2018) and Nick Stewart (2018) this season. Perez was bothered by injuries all summer and Stewart will have to step up in production with Daymond Tinsley (2020).
Nick Ford (2020) and Landon Dorsey (2018) both return for the South Florence HS Bruins. Quentin Hodge (2020) left late in the school year last year to enroll at Lakewood HS (Sumter). Hodge 6’4 recently had 6 receptions in his first football game for the Gators.
