Big Shots MB C/O 2019 & 2020 Standouts Pt.1
VA Havoc 2019 Forward Quashawn Washington: This youngster is a beast inside, he has a combination of good hands and good size to go along with a wide body frame. He rebounds it at a high volume, using his body to create space and positioning inside to make up for his height that is a bit smaller than most big. Where he affected the game the most was with his ability to block shots, he has very good timing and doesn’t get into foul trouble.
VA Havoc 2019 Guard Zarkeil Mceachin: He plays the game with a certain bounce to his step, and brings energy to the floor as soon as the game begins. He’s a quick guard into the paint just about whenever he wants, has nice speed and acceleration and constantly plays the game on his toes. His jumper is somewhat streaky at this point but when he gets hot from deep, he is very difficult to guard.
Fayetteville Elite 2020 Forward Travon Jackson: One of the most athletic players that we got the chance to watch, he plays much bigger than his 6’4 height would suggest. He blocks shots, finishes inside and battles with bigs on a nightly basis, the constant competition with fellow Northwood Temple Forward Manny Bates in practice is helping his improvement. Last but not least, you have to love the toughness he plays, with his approach to the game resembling that off a football player. It’s almost as if he loves contact.
Fayetteville Elite 2020 Guard Jamael Carter: Mel continues to get better each time we see him, he has gained confidence in himself over the years and truly knows how to lead a team. He does a good job of pitching the ball ahead to get quick transition buckets but can also run a team when they are in the half court. He knocks down shots well and kept his turnovers fairly low throughout the event, he’s a prospect to keep an eye on.
