Best Of July Class of 2019
Greene Central 2019 Forward Imajae Dodd: He gets better and better each time I get the opportunity to see him play, he plays with consistent energy and effort and has a nice skillset. He’s the type of player that will be a double/double machine over the next two years at Greene Central and don’t be surprised to see him even get triple doubles with the way he blocks shots.
Leesville Road 2019 Guard Jalen Benjamin: Jalen has a very mature game and a nice IQ for making the right play. He had one of the top plays during the summer at the Adidas Gauntlet Finale when he hit a defender with a mean crossover that made him spin around. Benjamin has seen a nice increase in his recruitment and it will only continue to improve
Kinston HS 2019 Guard Damian Dunn: Mid Major and High Major programs are already showing interest and giving offers to the next guard in line when it comes to big time prospects to come out of Kinston HS. He can score the ball well and when he’s locked is a very fun player to watch, his older brother is headed to Pepperdine.
Kinston HS 2019 Forward Dericko Williams: One of the best athletes that I saw in July, when you combine his athletic ability and toughness then you have a player that is very impactful on the court. He’s still somewhat raw but he’s constantly getting better, he’s spent quite a bit of time on the court during the summer which will only help his game.
South Central HS 2019 F Luke Davis: Very nice potential in this youngster, at 6’7 with a nice skillset I’m a bit surprised he doesn’t have more buzz going about him but he has a chance to be really good. What impressed me the most was how team oriented and unselfish he was, he got looked off on a few occasions but gave max effort to get back and make plays on the defensive end of the floor.
