UBC 17U Elite 49 Team Harden 37 (Game Notes)
Teams from all over the country are in attendance at the West Coast Elite Summer Classic. This is one of the top tournaments during the second live period and hundreds of college coaches are in attendance. The Utah Basketball Club faced Adidas sponsored Team Harden and were able to grind out a 59-54 win. Here are some game notes.
First half: The game started with teams trading buckets and then the paced really slowed down with UBC going to a zone defense. Jon Parker (Union) got hot and knocked down a pair of threes to help lead UBC to a halftime lead. Adam Santiago (Timpview) did a great job controlling the pace and getting his team into offense.
Second half: Was dominated by UBC on both ends of the floor. Team Harden seemed very confused on offense versus a zone. UBC was able to make them take contested jumpers that did not fall. James Nelson (Salem Hills)and Jon Parker (Union) were able to score from the outside to ensure thet UBC victory. The final score was UBC 49 and Team Harden 37.
MVP of the game: UBC’s defense. To hold an Adidas sponsored team to 37 points is very impressive. UBC didn’t play great on offense but when you hold a team to that many points, good chance your going to win.
