Recruiting Riser: Caleb Mills

Playing with Team Vision, an AAU team based out of Asheville, North Carolina, Caleb Mills had a breakout game against Nike EYBL Team CP3 and scored 26 points while making 8 3-point shots. Appalachian State offered the next day. Rice, George Mason, Kansas State, College of Charleston and Western Carolina also came on hard recruiting the hybrid point guard. He holds offers from Winthrop, Liberty and Lipscomb along with App State.
Caleb Mills
Mills is a new-age point guard that stands 6-foot-5 and is long and lean. He is quick in the open floor and can attack in transition or in the half-court set off the dribble. He is big enough to see over smaller defenders and can make the passes that shorter/smaller guards cannot. He can get his shot off over smaller defenders with his size and is a scoring threat with the ball in his hands. He plays with a relaxed paced but always gets the job done. He can get into the lane and score or attract the defense to find the open man and get easy buckets. He has really good court-vision and sees plays two or three passes ahead. He is a versatile player who is also a good defender.
He works out with former Harlem Globetrotter and UNC-Asheville standout John Williams at JWB Training in Asheville, North Carolina. He plays his high school basketball at Asheville Christian Academy along with 2019 guard Raishaun Brown, another Division One basketball recruit who will make a strong back-court at Asheville Christian Academy this upcoming season.
Playing this summer splitting time between Big Shots JWB and Team Vision, Mills has went from a regional recruiting prospect to gaining national attention. Coaches at the mid-major level should track Mills over the next couple of years. While his recruitment has the possibility at possibly reaching the high-major level, Mills will continue to get better and make coaches come watch him.
