Recruiting Report: Ricky Lindo (2018)
It doesn’t take long to see why Ricky Lindo, a class of 2018 wing at Woodrow Wilson High School, has been one of the biggest stock risers on the East Coast in the last twelve months. At 6’7+, there isn’t much he isn’t able to do, and he’s still just scratching the surface.
“I have a smooth, patient game where I try not to force anything, and help find shots for myself and my teammates,” Lindo explained. “I see the floor well. My length can discourage a lot of my opponents when I’m on both sides of the court.”
Lindo will play with DC Blue Devils this July after beginning his final grassroots campaign with Team Loaded. In preparation for what could be a huge summer, Lindo has been putting in work with his high school team in their summer league games while working out multiple times per week.
“My strength is probably the most improved part of my game. I was able to get stronger, which helps me absorb more contact on my finishing,” said Lindo. “I need a more consistent jumper and post up game.”
Lindo’s recruitment has escalated significantly in recent months. East Carolina recently offered Lindo his 20th scholarship to date. With an offer list that includes the likes of Harvard and Yale, one thing that makes Lindo so appealing, aside from what he does on the court, are his grades.
“I’m doing well in school with a 3.6 GPA, and a 1310 on my SAT,” Lindo stated. “A lot of east coast and Ivy league schools have been recruiting me.”
What can Lindo bring to a college program?
“I believe that I can bring a lot of athleticism offensively and defensively. Someone who listens, and pays attention to instruction. A player who is going to work hard.”
