Recruiting Report: Michael Jones (2018)
Woodbury/Minnesota Fury shooting guard Michael Jones now has earned six scholarship offers giving schools a strong academic and basketball resume to look into.
The Fury Wilde team has surpassed everyone’s expectations by winning 38 basketball games heading into the final week of play.
“I think I’ve most improved my ability to create my own shot and my rebounding,” Jones told Prep Hoops this week.
“The moment I’m most proud of this AAU season has been our team winning the regular season portion of the Sanford Pentagon Series and beating shoe sponsored teams.”
There is one week left of play for Fury and the Jones. Where can schools see him play?
“The Bigfoot Hoops Las Vegas Classic,” Michael said. “I’m really looking forward to spending time with my team both on and off the court, and trying to finish our AAU careers off strong.”
Jones has been offered by Wofford, Lehigh, Dartmouth, Drake, Northern Iowa, and Davidson plus other schools are calling.
“I’m hearing from Drake, UNI, Davidson, Dartmouth, Wofford, Cornell, Northeastern, Lehigh, Santa Clara, Miami (OH), Elon, Stanford, Princeton, Nebraska-Omaha, William & Mary, South Dakota, and Weber State as well.”
The Stanford Cardinal obviously sticks out on that list and after seeing video of him shooting and looking at his academic records they’ve watched him three different times this month.
Jones has planned one visit and is looking at some other programs to visit as well.
“In August I’ll be taking visits and starting to prepare for the high school season. I’m taking an official to Davidson the first week in August, I don’t have any other dates finalized for other visits yet,” Jones said.
Michael averaged nearly 25 points per game at Woodbury as a junior.
