Recruiting Report: Matt Todd (2018)
It’s Matt Todd’s dream to play division one basketball. He’s got one more weekend at the 17u level to prove to the many that are talking to him that he is good enough.
Todd has led the Minnesota Comets to a strong year at 32-14 playing the schedule of three NY2LA events, three SPTS events, two St. Cloud events, and the Adidas Prospect Series last weekend.
How has Todd improved against that level of competition?
“I think I’ve improved on handling ball pressure a lot as the season has progressed,” Matt said. “A moment that I’m proud of from this year would be the other weekend playing in Milwaukee with only six guys and how well we played despite that.”
Next up for Todd and the Comets? A trip to Vegas!
“We are in the Las Vegas Classic I believe . In my last weekend of AAU my approach for off the court is to just enjoy the whole experience and have fun with my teammates. For on the court I’m looking to play as well as I possibly can and hopefully pick up some offers.”
What schools could potentially offer? Matt has a long list of schools in contact.
“The schools I talk to the most are San Diego, South Dakota, NDSU, Loyola (MD), Denver, Cornell and Nebraska-Omaha,” Matt said. “Steston, American, and Central Connecticut State have reached out to my coach and said they will be watching me in Vegas as well.”
Todd has a few places he would like to visit this August.
“I’d really like to see San Diego’s campus at some point along with Denver’s campus, other than that I’m not sure where I will get out to and visit yet,” Matt said.
“In August I will probably try to set up some visits to schools that I like and continue to workout and prepare for my senior season.”
