Recruiting Report: Kolin Lewis (2019)
Kolin Lewis, a class of 2019 guard at Bullis School, looks set for a breakout high school campaign. He will factor into a talented back court and play an integral role on both ends of the floor. Lewis had a great spring with 6th Man Warriors, and is poised to carry that momentum with him during the July evaluation period.
“I would describe my game as complete and smooth. I bring energy to both sides of the ball, while doing so with a calm and stoic demeanor. I compete with intensity every possession, and am capable of doing all things on the court,” said Lewis. “One thing I do most people don’t see is leading my teammates. I always try to not only put my teammates in the correct position and set them up to score, but also to lead by example and play my hardest at all times.”
One thing we really admire about Lewis is his maturity. He’s humble, works hard, and it shows in his ability on the floor. Lewis is continuing to work on his game in anticipation of a bigger role in his junior season.
“The aspect of my game I have worked the most to improve over the past year is my defense. I have began to enjoy taking on the challenge of guarding the opposing team’s best player whenever I get the chance. I have improved greatly, and have become a very good defender both on and off ball,” Lewis stated. “I feel the next step in improving my game is working on my floaters and mid range. I am good at breaking down my defenders and getting to the basket, as well as being able to shoot efficiently from behind the 3 point line, so the next step in improving my game is being able to consistently score from the mid-range.”
Lewis is doing great in school. He has a 4.0 GPA, and takes all honors or AP courses. Lafayette, and the University of New Hampshire are the two most recent schools that have inquired about him. What do you can Lewis bring to a college program?
“I think I can bring leadership, energy, and consistency to a college program. I can also bring passion and a strong work ethic.”
