Continue ReadingSix-foot-7 forward Joshua LeBlanc recovered from a foot injury last year and is now viewed as a top 100 player in the country playing 17u with Louisiana Elite.
Joshua LeBlanc currently leads LA Elite in points, rebounds, and blocks heading into the July period. At 13.6 points (on 59.8 percent shooting), 8.4 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game Joshua is excited to get back on the court.
“I’m looking forward to playing in the Under Armour Association Finals next week,” said LeBlanc. “We are 7-5 in UAA play right now and looking forward to Atlanta.”
LeBlanc stands 6-foot-7 but has a seen foot wingspan plus Joshua is a thick shouldered athlete who can add good weight to his frame. Athletic? Ask those at the Bass Pro Shops Tournament of Champions were LeBlanc won the dunk contest last fall.
As far as recruiting goes LeBlanc told us at GI and Prep Hoops Network that he has 19 scholarship offers since adding Cincinnati in June. What’s he looking for in a school?
“A great fit and a good situation for myself personally,” LeBlanc said.
“I want a coach that will really care about me outside of the game of basketball. I plan to start cutting down the list in July.”
LeBlanc also said “he wants to commit sooner rather than later”.
So what schools are on LeBlanc the most heading into the all important July period?
“I’m hearing the most from Coach Patrick Ewing from Georgetown, Coach Will Wade at LSU, and from coaches at Texas A&M, UAB, and Iowa State,” LeBlanc said.
Two weeks ago in an interview with Evan Daniels LeBlanc said that Texas A&M, UAB, Minnesota, LSU, and Georgetown have been reaching out and that Texas A&M and LSU were making him a priority.
“I like the Minnesota program,” Josh said. “Coach Conroy and I have been talking for a few months and he also recruited me when he was the coach at Tulane.”
