Recruiting Report: John Michael-Mulloy (2019)
John Michael-Mulloy – 6’10” | W/F | Carmel High School | Indy Heat 16U EYBL
Recruiting Report following Nike Peach Jam
John Michael-Mulloy has been on many college programs radar’s for quite some time now. The long, athletic forward started turning heads last year when he received his first offer from Eastern Illinois University.
John has been performing at an elite level on the EYBL Circuit this season and helped the Spiece Indy Heat 16U team earn their first Peach Jam bid in program history [https://prephoops.com/2017/06/spiece-indy-heat-16u-eybl-earns-peach-jam-bid/]. He wasn’t finished there.
Heading into the Peach Jam, this Indy Heat team was looked at as an underdog. They had proven that they could compete at the highest level and John had been a force in the paint. Missing Craig Young Jr. was a major loss for this team in the energy category but John picked up the slack.
Michael-Mulloy had a few break-out games in Augusta this past weekend including 16 point, 11 rebound, and 3 assist game against an impressive Athletes of Tomorrow (AOT) team in the Final Four. He also produced 16 points and 18 rebounds in a momentum shifting win against Bradley Beal Elite in pool play.
Coming off a strong Final Four finish, John received an offer from Coach Jack Owens from Miami (OH) University [https://twitter.com/JM_Mulloy44/status/887344409074913280]. This is the second offer on his list, both Division I.
Keep an eye out for John to continue turning heads and bringing in offers. The big man can do a little bit of everything on the floor. His rim protection has gotten much better as he now stays out of foul trouble which allows him to make big plays in late game situations. He has also shown improvement on his jumper and is more confident stepping behind the arc and knocking it down.
As he continues to expand his offensive game, he will have great success throughout his high school career. High-energy guy who isn’t afraid to make winning plays sacrificing his body. Great prospect in the Class of 2019.
