Recap: All-West Camp – Best of 2019 Class
Fullcourt Press All West-Camp
Westminster High School was home for the Fullcourt Press All-West Camp, directed by Dinos Trigonis and sponsored by Pangos.
Prospects from all classes (2017-2021) made their way to the gym to exhibit their skills. Fellow scouts Devin Ugland and Frank Burlison will display their standouts in the Classes of 2018 and 2020, respectively, while below will be my choices for the Class of 2019.
Class of 2019 Standouts (listed alphabetically)
Darren Jones (San Bernadino Cajon/Cal United)
* Jones, who is ranked No. 6 in the prephoops.com rankings, is a lengthy forward who possesses a versatile skill set. Whether it’s filling the lane for an acrobatic finish or dropping in a 3-point shot from deep, his upside is immense.
Drake London (Moorpark/BTI All Stars)
* London was arguably the biggest revelation of the day. This lanky lefty at 6-foot-6 is an astute passer, active rebounder, and displayed some solid ball skills in the open court. One of the better sleepers in Southern California.
Drake London is one of the top sleepers in So-Cal’s Class of 2019Jarod Lucas (Hacienda Heights Los Altos/Compton Magic)
* Lucas, whose father Jeff was a sharp shooter himself back in the day, can tickle the twine with the best. After an impressive performance at Pangos All-American Camp, Lucas continued his gifted scoring ways at this camp as well.
Isaiah Mobley (Temecula Rancho Christian/Compton Magic)
* Mobley was arguably the best prospect in camp, regardless of class. The talented point forward–who stands 6-foot-9– impacts the game with a soft touch inside-and-out and his passing prowess and overall savvy are impressive
Julian Rishwain (Sherman Oaks Notre Dame/Earl Watson Elite)
* Despite his wiry frame, Rishwain is a fundamentally sound scorer. He sets up well behind the arc to exhibit his smooth shooting touch and his ability to euro-step or slash his way to the basket was quite good.
