Prospect Spotlight: Dylan Aubert (2018)
West Coast Elite Basketball entrepreneur Ryan Silver launched a unique approach to the ever-changing Grassroots Basketball culture. Like a dual sport athlete exhibiting his skills in multiple areas, Silver decided to not only corral as many of the top rated basketball prospects in Southern California, but also attract the kids that may not be Division 1 caliber, but definitely have the skill set to play at either the Division II, III, or NAIA level.
His platform of High Academic Super Bowl events have attracted many of the top student-athletes from around the country to these events and they have received a resounding “thumbs up” from many of us in this profession.
Aubert was one of the better shooters at the eventA perfect example of how this format has helped kids you have to look no further than Dylan Aubert. The 6-foot-3 shooting guard out of El Segundo High school was a standout at the West Coast Elite High Academic Super Bowl held at Coronado High School in Las Vegas.
He showed solid athleticism, a competitive nature, and was knocking in jump shots from all areas of the floor.
“I feel the strongest area of my game is shooting and I can consistently shoot it either off the catch or in transition in a pull-up situation.”
Due to the improvements in his game Aubert has been moved up to the Earl Watson Elite Silver squad where he looks to put his stamp on the Fab 48 which starts Thursday at various gyms in Las Vegas.
“In order for me to take my game to another level I’ll have to improve my rebounding and defense, both from a technique stand point as well as communicating on the court.”
Although college interest hasn’t arrived for Aubert just yet, he does have a dream school—that being Texas A&M. Why the Aggies? “ I grew up in Texas and like the school and culture of the area.”
