Prospect Spotlight: 2018 Riley Demps (Video)
Appearances can be deceiving and opponents who take Riley Demps lightly learn quickly. The 6-foot-2 sharpshooter has a brachial plexus injury in his shoulder that doesn’t allow him to fully extend his right arm but his shooting arm is perfectly fine and he gets plenty of buckets with it on a game-in, game-out basis.
Demps always puts himself in positions to get his shot off quickly and he has a super smooth release from 3-point range that he makes at a high rate. He also finds ways to finish crafty shots in the paint and is a good enough ball handler to get himself out of tight spots while making plays for others.
The Newman product reads the floor and anticipates the action well on both ends of the court and here’s a look at Demps with NOLA23 over the spring and summer.
