Powerade Finale Standout Players Part 4
SYF Players 2018 Guard Deandre Gholston: One of the best scorers that I got the chance to see at the event, he has a smooth game overall and is what we would call a natural scorer. He never gets rushed into anything and gets to his hot spots fairly easily, his frame allows him to take embrace contact without being thrown off at all. He’s off the board at this point as he has verbally committed to Kent State University.
Detroit Spartans 2018 F Kyle Washington: A player that can has the athletic tools of a college player already, he made plays above the rim including a poster dunk against SYF Players. On the defensive end of the floor he applies constant pressure, coming up with steals and deflections while forcing opposing offenses into turnovers and rushed plays.
Kansas City Pacers 2018 Mason Taylor: A slashing type of player that has a next level physique already, he got where he wanted when he wanted and scored at a high rate. He has good upper body strength which he uses when he gets contact in the air when scoring the ball, at 6’4 you can see how would be able to impact a college program.
Pure Prep 2018 Guard Dravon Clayborn: A top ballhandler at the event without a doubt, he dribbles hard and low and doesn’t turn it over much. He’s what we would call a shifty player, with all the moves he has he makes himself difficult to defend.
Illionis Stars 2019 Guard Chris Burnell: One of the better on the ball defenders , when the opposing guards got it going he was subbed in and stepped up big time to come up with a high amount of stops.
SYF Players 2020 Guard Johnell Davis: One of the younger players at the event but his potential to be good is very high, he came off the bench for the squad and provided a much needed spark as well as ball security. He has decent size at the guard spot, and a nice wingspan, don’t be surprised to see him grow a few more inches and his game to grow as well.
