Louisiana Elite went 4-2 at this showcase in Orlando, picking up multiple wins over fellow shoe sponsored teams. On the first day, 2018 F Josh LeBlanc was named Player of the Day by SourceHoops, saying “his athleticism, energy, and skill level are all top shelf, and consequently he is a tough matchup. College coaches were also on hand to check out fellow Madison Prep star Kobe Julien, who impressed with his slashing and scoring ability.
New Orleans Basketball Club (5-2)
Battle of the Best (Orlando, FL)
New Orleans Basketball Club finished their season out on a high note, both of their coming against teams in the championship of the tournament. Unsigned seniors guards Jacolby Carter and Latrell Jones both impressed and are weighing their options for prep schools heading into next season. 2018 G Devonta Harris of Crescent City had a spectacular weekend averaging over 20 points per game, including a game where he scored 19 of his 22 in the second half, and lead his team back from a 20 point deficit.
NOLA23 (2-3)
Great American Shootout (Dallas, TX)
NOLA23 was down some of their top players, but had players step up, and it lead to a respectable showing at GASO. 2018 guards Marc Bowie of Karr and Jamiree Williams of Central Lafourche both played well in front of a large crowd of college coaches, and both have interest from a few in state programs, such as LSUA and Nicholls St.
LA Select Team Milsap (4-2)
Great American Shootout (Dallas, TX)
LA Select Team Milsap represented the state as well as anyone, getting some big wins, including over Texas Hardwork 16u (UA) and Houston Hoops DJ in double overtime. A pair of 2018 guards from Lafayette in Eli Mouton (Ascension) and Jalen Dalcourt (Lafayette) both impressed on a big stage, as well as John Buggs III of Summerfield.
