Louisiana Class of 2018 Rankings: New Faces pt. 2
Devonta Harris 6’0 G Crescent City
New Ranking: 38
Devonta is another very talented guard from Crescent City that has used an impressive summer to vault his way up our rankings. He has a very quick first step, and is able to get into the paint with ease. He also has the ability to hit shots from deeeeeeep beyond three point range. Defensively, he is tasked with guarding the other teams top player, and more than holds his own.
Daelon Murdock 6’0 G Helen Cox
New Ranking: 40
Murdock is a high IQ guard that can score and makes those around him better. After a pretty successful season last year, Helen Cox is relying on Murdock to step up next season, and be a strong second option. He can get to the goal and finish with either hand, but is also a willing passer when help defense steps up.
Kelvin Murphy 5’10 G Port Allen
New Ranking: 51
Murphy had a good summer playing with LA United, and is starting to get some college looks. To read more on Murphy, click here.
Isaiah Rollins 6’3 G Northside
New Ranking: 52
Rollins is a guard from Northside that just looks better and better every time I see him. He is very good at getting to the goal, and is able to use his big frame to finish strong through contact. He is a much improved mid range shooter, and defenders can no longer just sag off him when defending him.
Cam Dumas 5’8 G Episcopal
New Ranking: 54
Dumas last season was the man for Episcopal, and was just two points short of leading them to the state championship game. I expect much of the same from both him and Episcopal this year, especially after Dumas played so well for LA United this summer. He has a very high basketball IQ, and makes the right read time and time again. He is also a strong competitor, and will do whatever it takes to help his team win.
