All In Hoopfest Preview: Ohio v. Ohio Games
The All In Hoopfest in Louisville will bring together a wide range of Ohio talent under one roof this weekend. Per usual, there will probably be a lot of Ohio versus Ohio matchups on Sunday. In the meantime, when the legs are fresher, here are some games during pool play that pit Ohio teams against each other.
All rankings are according to our
17U
Friday at 6:30pm on Court 18
#3 Ohio Basketball Club v. #21 VCC-NOVA (Beard) — Based on a past experience of watching this Nova group battle with All Ohio Red in the spring, we know they’ll be ready to compete against one of the best Ohio teams around. There are plenty of prospects to watch on both sidelines, who project anywhere from high-major (Dwayne Cohill and Robby Carmody), low- or mid-major (Christian Guess, Austin Rotroff, etc.), Division II (Garrett Tipton, Dale Bonner, etc.), and Division III.
Friday at 7:40pm on Court 1
Advanced Game v. Hidden Gems-ISG — This game should be filled with plenty of small college guys and others with high upside. Most notably, we’re hoping to check up on Eli Ramsey (Advanced Game / Dayton Carroll) and Jaiden Woodley (ISG / Maumee Valley).
Saturday at 2:30pm
#22 Hidden Gems Black v. #8 OH-NOVA (Rice) — This game is swelling with interesting prospects from the Central Ohio region. In grassroots games of this nature, it’s always interesting to see how familiar foes approach it. Elijah McNamara against Caiden Landis should be a fun battle in the post, as the two have much different styles of play.

Saturday at 7:00pm on Court 14
#1 Ohio Basketball Club v. #10 Cincy Lakers — While we may not make it to every single game on this list, there’s no question that we’ll be camped out on Court 14 from 7-8pm for this. Last week at the Adidas Invitational in Indy, the Lakers had a very strong performance against 17U competition. They’re hot right now, and this is their chance to take on the current #1 team in Ohio’s 16U rankings.

Saturday at 9:40pm on Court 13
#9 All Ohio Gold v. Pro Bound — Frankly, we’re not sure who is on this Pro Bound team currently. Part of the appeal here is that we’ll be learning more about a team whose roster has been in flux this season. As far as All Ohio Gold, they tend to get up and down the court and have shown the ability to hang with most anyone. They snuck their way into our rankings by sharing the ball and having a lot of young prospects who compliment one another.
