Early Dayton City League Top 3

After spending the last few days previewing Dayton Divisions as a whole, now I will shift my focus to early conference previews. The goal here is to show you right now who the Top 3 teams are in the conference and the Top 5 players. Let’s look at the Dayton City League.
- Dunbar– Without a doubt this Wolverines team is the top team in the league this upcoming season. Last year they made it to the Regional Finals before falling to a talented Trotwood-Madison team. Expect them to be back in the Regionals come March.
- Meadowdale– The Lions were a great guard oriented team last season, but watched several players graduate. Even with their losses, Meadowdale has one of the best shooters in the DCL returning and will be one of the better teams this season in the league.
- Thurgood Marshall– Last year was a rebuilding season for the Cougars as they lost several players from the year before. With a younger core returning for 2017-18, expect a much different outcome in November.
Top 5 Players
Caleb McConnell (Dunbar)- Great stretch forward with tremendous range and athleticism.
DeVon Baker (Dunbar)- Rising PG with great vision and killer ball handling.
Jabali Leonard (Meadowdale)- Arguably one of the top shooters in the league with great range.
Joseph Scates (Dunbar)- Tremendous athlete with great vertical hops.
Jadon Rucker-Furlow (Belmont)- Another athlete who excels with shot blocking and rebounds.
