Dayton’s Top 40 Players
After spending the month of July showing everyone the top players and teams in Dayton, it is now time to introduce the end of the Dayton series: the Top 40 list. After breaking down by guards, ball-handlers, shooters, etc, this list will be overall the best 40 players in Dayton. There are so many more guys that could have made this list but the 40 on this list are above and beyond some of the best out there.
- Matt Welker (Dayton Christian)- All around talented PG with great shooting and defensive abilities.
- Jabali Leonard (Meadowdale)- Sharpshooter with range well beyond 3PT arc.
- Dillon Braun (Fort Loramie)- Can play the 1 or 2 and possesses great shooting touch and court vision.
- Billy Lord (Shawnee)- Strong inside presence with great finishing ability in traffic.
- Andy Neff (Oakwood)- Can play the 4 or 5 and is a dynamic finisher in the paint.
- Connor Bazelak (Alter)- Two sport athlete dominates the court with his shooting touch, especially behind the 3PT line.
- Ben Schmiesing (Piqua)- A guard that plays more like a 3 or 4; can beat opponents inside or outside and rebounds well for his position.
- Jace Underwood (Urbana)- Great ball distributor and ball handler.
- Ryan Montgomery (Franklin)- Physical guard that can defend on the perimeter or in the paint.
- Evan Berning (Fort Loramie)- All around talented PG with great court vision and offensive skill.
- Jack Clement (Bellefontaine)- Great on-the-ball defender with a nice scoring mentality.
- Payton Knott (Franklin)- Very talented PG with great range and court awareness and vision.
- Justin Stephens (Trotwood-Madison)- Very talented shot blocker and paint protector.
- Ratez Roberts (Sidney)- Quick on-the-ball defender with tremendous rebounding skill.
- Joey Bates (Preble Shawnee)- Total low post weapon on both ends of the floor.
- Mason Schneider (Greeneview)- Physical 4 man that dominates the glass and scores well in the post.
- C.J. Napier (Fenwick)- High scoring, high rebounding 3 man with great upside.
- Levi Boettcher (Urbana)- Lengthy 3 man with tremendous range and great offensive skill.
- Donnie Shelton (Centerville)- Lock down defensive player with great speed and plays with great passion.
- Dillon McCullough (Tri-County North)- All around talented PG with great ball distribution skill.
- Eli Ramsey (Carroll)- Versatile 3 man with great offensive skillset and can defend post and perimeter.
- Ethan Conley (Franklin-Monroe)- Extremely athletic wing with great range and finishes well at the rim.
- Justin Flor (Carlisle)- Talented shot blocker and scorer that can play the 3 or 4.
- Jack Hendricks (Fairmont)- Strong shooting guard that knocks down 3PT shots with ease.
- Tristan Backas (Monroe)- Athletic wing that can beat defenders on the glass or scoring in the paint.
- Grant Whisman (Madison)- High scoring post player that can step back and knock down shots from beyond the arc.
- Leonard Taylor (Springfield)- Athletic 4 that can beat defenders off the dribble and rebounds at a high rate.
- Jon Alessandro (Beavercreek)- Lengthy 3 man with great offensive skill and good range.
- Duncan Hall (Miamisburg)- Dominant inside presence that rebounds and scores well in the paint.
- Jonathan Mpanzu (Stebbins)- Athletic 3 that rebounds over defenders and disrupts passing lanes with his length.
- Deshon Parker (Wayne)- Athletic 2 guard with a nice shooting touch; summer stock riser.
- James Anderson (Troy Christian)- Dynamic rebounder and inside scorer; one of the best post men in Ohio.
- Caleb South (Bethel)- High scoring PG with great range and can score from anywhere on the floor.
- L’Christian Smith (Wayne)- Very athletic 3 or 4; low post weapon that can defend guards or post players.
- Myles Belyeu (Trotwood-Madison)- Offensive nightmare with great midrange shot and low post scoring skill.
- Darius Quisenberry (Wayne)- Athletic PG with tremendous ball handling and offensive skill; not afraid to defend the rim.
- Amari Davis (Trotwood-Madison)- Lengthy 2 man that disrupts passing lanes and finishes at the rim.
- Samari Curtis (Xenia)- High scoring wing that can knock down shots from anywhere on the floor.
- Justin Ahrens (Versailles)- Fantastic all-around player. Rebounds well for a wing and can score from virtually anywhere.
- Andre Gordon (Sidney)- Talented PG; excels at all aspects of his game especially on-the-ball defense and scoring.
