Best of the Midwest: Saturday’s MVP’s
Best of the Midwest: Most Valuable Player’s
Saturday, July 22nd | Grand Rapids, MI
Lamar Norman – 6’2” | G | UAA 1Nation 17U | Wyoming Godwin Heights (MI) | Class of 2018
Norman was easily one of the more explosive players in the entire tournament this past weekend at MSA Woodland. Not only can he get to the basket at will, he has a finishing package that is far more advanced than his peers. Lamar is unstoppable in the open floor and with space to get to the basket. On Saturday, he also got it going from deep and was knocking down deep ball after deep ball. Long, athletic, and versatile guard prospect.

Trayce Jackson-Davis – 6’8” | F | Team Teague 2019 | Center Grove High School (IN) | Class of 2019
Trayce grabs anything and everything in his area. He was pulling in rebounds left and right on both backboards. He is an outstanding outlet passer with his size. Jackson-Davis gets out and runs the floor well too. Great rim runner with the hands and footwork to catch and finish on the move. He is become more explosive as he ages, finishing above the rim with strength and athleticism. Solidifying himself as one of the Top 2019 prospects in Indiana.

Marcus Bingham Jr. – 6’10” | F | Indy Heat 17U EYBL | Grand Rapids Ottawa Hills (MI) | Class of 2018
Marcus Bingham Jr. has exploded onto the scene this summer and is fresh off his commitment to Tom Izzo and the Michigan State Spartans. With his length and ability, he is one of the toughest players to match up with possession after possession. He had it going from deep on Saturday, knocking down three’s consistently. He also showed that he can guard on the perimeter while also maintaining a presence as a shot blocker at the rim.

Keion Brooks Jr – 6’9” | W/G | Indy Heat 17U EYBL | Fort Wayne North Side (IN) | Class of 2019
Keion is another one of the Indy Heat standouts. At 6’9”, he can get his jumper off over defense, finish above the rim, and take advantages of mismatches everywhere on the floor. He has shown major improvements in his ball handling skills which has led to better decision making. His face-up, one-on-one game on offense is un-guardable. He consistently drew double teams but made the right pass out. Top 2019 National recruit for a reason.

Justin Ahrens – 6’5” | W/G | UAA Ohio C2K Elite | Versailles High School (OH) | Class of 2018
Ahrens took it to Team Teague on Saturday in one of the prime-time games of the afternoon. Justin’s jumper was working from deep and when that starts falling, he is one tough player to stop. He got out in the open floor and finished at the rim regularly, including a two-handed alley-oop finish that swung the momentum in their favor. Versatile wing that’s showing improvements on the defensive end, especially in the post.
