AAU Recap: Most Enjoyable 2020 Teams
With the end of the AAU season, we want to take a look back at our most impressive and fun teams from each age group. These aren’t the best teams or a ranking but our favorites from the season. Here are our most impressive 2020 teams we watched.
Grand Park Premier 2020 – O’Connor – This Grand Park team was in the first year of the program and if they can recreate this team at other age levels for the future. They have a few guys that played really well including the duo from Danville, Sam Comer and Dillon Ware. However, they had others really step up like Carson Burton and Justin DeGraaf. They played well and was able to score the ball at a high level with size that could do some fun things.
Indiana Elite 2020 – This Indiana Elite team is probably the best 2020 team in the country. They have a ton of talent in a class from Indiana that might not be all that deep. The concentration of talent is great with a true top end talent in Mabor Majak at 7’1 but then guards with so much upside in Sincere McMahon, Trey Galloway, and Andrew Welage. They are stacked and so fun to watch.
Indiana Elite Central 2020 – The IE Central team is a favorite of mine because I’m from the area. The talent isn’t always deep in the Tippecanoe County area so when there are good teams, for me it is fun to watch. This group is talented and like the IE Metro 2019 team, they shoot a lot of threes and make a ton of them. Matt Jones and Rowen Ferrell have both really stepped up their games this summer.
Indiana Elite North 2020 – The North 2020 team was one that kept winning games each weekend and continued to do their thing until people started to pay attention. Now, they are a group of kids that deserve more attention than we are giving them. Edreece Redmond has been a favorite but Harrison Eckel, Jake Archbold, and Malek Edmonds have also grown on me this summer as guys that are better.
UA G3 Grind 2020 – This G3 team was a group that was built more around guards but they have a great group. I trust in the backcourt of Hunter Jackson and Michael Saunders Jr. They don’t turn the ball over and they can produce. Deontae Craig has also been very good, doing just about everything you could ask for. Their toughness is what was the best quality of their team.
