Summer Slam: 15u Standouts
The Sanford Summer Slam tournament ended Sunday afternoon here are the 15u standouts.
Ryder Kirsch– Rapid City- Kirsch is a long 6’6” big that stretches the floor well with his shooting capabilities. His best strength this weekend was when he was able to catch and shoot the three.
Kayden Verley– Canton- Verley is a crafty point guard that overall makes his team better. He brings the ball up the floor with ease and can dribble drive and distribute for his teammates well.
Temesgen Feldkamp– Sioux Falls- Feldkamp is a strong guard that makes the defender pay for whatever they are giving up. If the defender is off he can shoot or if they are too close he will drive right by them. His passing capabilities and vision though is what makes him tough to guard as an opposing team.
Jack Cartwright– Sioux Falls- Cartwright is mostly a three point shooter, but also has some good vision and nice passing skills. If the defender falls asleep or leaves to help, Cartwright has the capabilities of knocking it down from deep.
Matthew Mors– Yankton- Mors is a stud at 6’6” and can do it all at a young age. Mors can finish above the rim and can also stretch the floor from hitting deep threes. He’s a strong kid that plays mostly post, but can play any spot on the floor given the rotation.
Jaxon LaBrie– Brandon- LaBrie is very good role player that helps his team out the most when in need. LaBrie has outstanding handles that can get the ball up the floor with pressure and dish it to one of his bigs.
Andrew Bergan– Aberdeen- Bergan is a very long 6’7” guard that has huge potential. Bergan has a nice jump shot game that can not be denied since he can just pull up over his smaller defender every time. If the opponent puts a big on him he can drive right past him and finish above the rim.
Gavin Terhark– Brandon- Terhark has a nice inside game that works nicely in his team’s offense. He is always ready for dump offs and can finish in traffic above defenders nicely. He also is a great rebounder on defense and will secure almost every loose ball.
Ryan Schuster– Volga- Schuster is an ideal point guard that has size over his opponent, but also the quickness to get past the defender. His vision and creative finishes were what impressed me the most this past weekend.
Max Baloun– Redfield- Baloun is a physical big man at 6’5” who finishes with contact and crashes the glass extremely hard on both ends of the floor. His hustle and will to win was his X factor that impressed me the most and resulted in big time plays.
