Westover HS Team Camp Standout Players: Day 1
Cape Fear HS C/O 2018 Forward Myron Williams: Myron was one of the leaders in rebounding in the state last year and all it takes is a few moments of watching him to see why he was able to accomplish that. He does an outstanding job of positioning himself for rebounds and using his frame to move opponents that are taller, D2 & Low Major D1 schools should be tracking him.
Southern Wayne C/O 2018 F Jakevius McCollum: Has good size for a player at the Forward position to go along with a long wingspan that helps him score with ease inside. Throughout the week he was one of the top rebounding players coming up with nice numbers on the defensive boards.
Southern Wayne C/O 2019 Guard Deandre Wright: He did a great job of getting his teammates into their sets early and often, he’s a low turnover player that makes the simple play. Already has a next level body and does a great job of being a leader for his team, even when he’s not on the court.
Southern Wayne C/O 2018 Forward Shtwan Lathan: Hands down he was one of the best athletes at the team camp, he threw down some impressive dunks and made plays above the rim. He’s a multisport athlete so his ability to play the game in a physical manner was no surprise at all.
Cape Fear HS C/O 2020 Wing Chase Dawkins: This young man was one of the best shooters at camp, he has a nice smooth release and does a good job of getting his offense in the flow of the game.
South Granville C/O 2018 Forward Ryan Moore: At 6’3 with a soft touch, he’s a player that can play as a stretch forward or outside on the wing. One of the most impressive attributes about him was how well he passes the ball and puts teammates in position to score.
