Utah State University Teamp Camp (Small College prospects)
The Utah State University hosted a great team camp this past weekend. I was able to watch on day 2 of the camp and there were several players that I would considered very good players that can play at the non-d1 level.
Ross Reeves 6’1 Guard 2018 (Orem) the sharp-shooting lefty put his range on display when I was watching. He hit several contested three pointers and also got to his mid-range game and scored there. Reeves is very thin which allows opposing players to push him around at times. Reeves averaged 16 ppg last season and is a D2 prospect who may also benefit from going to a junior college.
Alex Lamb 6’2 Guard 2018 (Roy) had a highlight dunk during the game I watched and showed how athletic he really is. Lamb has very long arms and is able to finish well at the basket over opposing bigs. His jump-shot is inconsistent at this point but it has improved. Lamb is a very good on ball defender which is something that will translate to the next level. He is a D2 or junior college prospect.
Trey Johnson 6’3 Guard 2018 (Hillcrest ID) is very athletic off-guard that is very good at getting to the hoop and finishing. Johnson is a solid shooter from the outside and can get going at times. I haven’t seen tons of Johnson although he is playing for the Utah Basketball Club and I will be able to see him more next month.
Chantry Ross 5’10 Guard 2018 (Lone Peak) is a scrappy undersized guard that is an absolute pest on the defensive side. Ross has the ability to pick up and guard 94 feet which caused opposing guards many problems. He is a solid offensive player and can knock down the outside shot with consistency. I think Ross would be a nice-pick up at a junior college.
