USA Basketball 16U Schedule Announced, Zion Harmon (2021) Participating

USA Basketball announced it’s summer 16U schedule and they are ready to roll. The Americans will be competing in Group B to start the preliminary round. The group also features the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. Group A includes Argentina, Canada, Paraguay, and Venezuela. USA scrimmaged Argentina today.
The 2017 FIBA Americans U16 First Round games will begin June 14th in Formosa, Argentina. USA will take on Puerto Rico at 3:15 PM EDT. They will continue play on the 15th, facing off against the Dominican Republic at 5:45. The First Round will commence Friday. On that day, USA will take on Mexico at 1:15.
The FIBA 16U event will have particular interest for Kentuckians, as Bowling Green freshman-to-be Zion Harmon is participating. Harmon earned a spot on the roster after the 32-man training camp, narrowing down the roster to 12.
Last season (as an 8th grader), Harmon helped lead Bowling Green to a Kentucky state championship. He averaged 16.8 points per game on the season. He averaged 18 points and 3 assists during the state tournament.
