Team Preview: Arizona Rebels 15U
The Arizona Rebels 15U team is quite talented. In fact, they play up in the majority of their in-state tournaments and have demonstrated that they can compete with the older competition. Part of what makes this team so successful is how they are built. They have a little bit of everything, shooters, slashers, and posts. In addition, they play hard on the defensive end and execute an array of defenses at a high level.
Rebles Players to Watch:
Tosh Baker 6’8 PF/C 2020 Pinnacle (Arizona Rebels) – Baker is one of the premier big men in this class. He has a solid and improving mid-range jumper. In addition, he has good footwork, soft hands, and a good touch around the rim. His size and strength also assist this Rebels team in a positive way. When he is not playing with the Rebels, he participates with Splash City in the Under Armour circuit.
Marcus Libman 6’0 PG/SG 2020 Pinnacle (Arizona Rebels) – Libman is a solid combo guard. He brings good strength and athleticism to the game at the point and shooting guard spots. Moreover, he has a nice shot from deep and is improving in his ability to put his head down and attack. Defensively, he is a good on-ball defender who anticipates well in help side and does a good job of running in transition.
Manny Ledeza 5’10 PG 2020 Pinnacle (Arizona Rebels) – Manny is probably the best at putting the basketball on the floor and attacking the rim for this group. He finishes well at the rim and does a good job of setting the tempo for the team in transition as well as in the half court.
Rebels’ Strengths:
The 15U Rebels have an assortment of guards who can shoot the basketball. They get the basketball up the floor well and move on the flight of the basketball defensively. They are constantly putting pressure on the opposing offense and leading the guards to their rim protector, Tosh Baker. The team also does a really good job of getting post touches to its big, Baker, and moving without the basketball to take the help side defense away.
