Stock Riser Report: Reggie Raynor (2020)
Height: 6’5
School: New Life Christian Academy
AAU: RAID Nation
Class: 2020
We introduced you all to New Life Christian 2020 Wing Reggie Raynor a few months back as an impact transfer player that folks should keep a close eye on. Well we saw a performance from Raynor during the Westover HS Team Camp that was very impressive and has of looking forward to what he can possible be as a prospect in the future.
What makes him special?
First and foremost, you can teach the height and athletic ability that he brings to the court, he has nice height for a wing and is athletic ability was on full display throughout the camp. He threw down some big time dunks in traffic and blocked shots at a very high rate on the defensive end of the floor, the mixture of his: height, athleticism, and wingspan works well for him when he is fully locked in. His shooting is continuing to improve as well, he’s tightening up his form and we can see the difference with the amount of shots that he’s knocking down. Another attribute that was impressive was his aggressiveness, in the past he was almost too patient with letting the game come to him, but during this camp he was aggressive which constantly put pressure on the defense. Last but not least was his rebounding, without a doubt he had to be in the double/double range each game with points and rebounds and those numbers will only improve as he adds muscle to his upper body. College programs have already been watching and expressing interest, if you don’t have him on your watch list already, you need to go ahead and add him.
Quote from his coach NLCA Coach Parker ‘‘When he’s locked in and aggressive he is a dangerous player, he is a player that we need a lot from every game.’’
Quote from his coach RAID Nation 16U HC Coach Dre ” I really think that he can go all the way. He’s had a glimpse of what it looks like at high level with our aau schedule and he knows what he has to do. With the decision to reclass and get an extra year to develop his stock should rise and he will be a special player in years to come.”
