Saint Andrews University Workout: Part 1
As mentioned earlier we had the opportunity to stop in to Saint Andrews University for their recruit workout/open gym. There was plenty of talent in the gym of various ages from high school underclassmen all the way up to JUCO sophomores and transfers. Listed below are some of the players that stood out throughout the workout and ones that colleges should be watching.
Trevon Teague (South GA Tech) – Teague displayed outstanding and athleticism throughout, knows how to get where he wants. Had quite a few plays on the defensive end where he blocked or altered shots using his athletic ability.
James Taylor (C/O 2018 Western Harnett HS) – Has nice size for a wing, at 6’4-6’5 with guard skills he created matchups problems throughout the day. Still raw but one to keep an eye on as he continues to improve, already has good court awareness.
Joey Flores (Dixon HS Post Grad)- Flores started the day off slowly but picked it up as the day went on , when his team needed him to score he came up with big buckets knocking down back to back treys to win the game.
Messiah Pankney (Grace Christian 2018 Guard) – Messiah is a player that you love to watch play the game, he plays hard and seems like he loves to compete. Throughout the day he showed his ability to play through contact and still be a very productive player.
Nalyha Pittman (Fairmont HS 2018) – A big bodied player with a soft touch inside, he didn’t have a problem at all finishing buckets against the other bigs. Once he locks in and gets into top shape he will be a very scary prospect, he has good hands and rebounds it very well.
Christian Williams (Glenn HS 2017) – Hands down one of the best athletes that stepped in the gym on Saturday. He started the day off quietly but once things got going he threw down, dunk after dunk and made the crowd and coaches say wow.
