Remember the Titans
The Trinity-Byrnes Titans are looking forward to a new season this coming fall. The Titans return a solid nucleus to the floor along with a transfer in Jordan Jones. Jones played last season at nearby South Florence HS.
Jones a left-handed point guard saw good minutes as a freshman last season for the Bruins. The Titans lost Marcus Crawford (Catawba) and Kris Chapman (Old Dominion-Football) from last seasons team to graduation. Jones will look to run the offense this season. Jones averaged just around 9 ppg last season at South Florence HS.
Jones plays AAU with Big Shots South Carolina 15U.
Prep Hoops thinks the Titans and the Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach Saints will battle it out in Region play this season to play a heavy favorite Spartanburg Day Griffins and Zion Williamson.
La’sauhn McFadden is back after averaging 15.4 ppg and 6 assists last season for the Titans. McFadden a combo guard can really score the ball when needed. McFadden plays AAU with a local team in Florence International Basketball.
CJ MilesCJ Miles 6’3 is a very slender-sleek athlete that likes to play on the perimeter for the Titans. Miles averaged 11.2 ppg, 2 rebounds and 2.6 steals last season. Miles has the ability to knock down the 3 pointer or the mid-range jumpe
Mateo Thompson is a very bouncy 6’4 kid. Thompson plays football as a wide receiver / defensive back for the Titans will be looked on to improve on his 5.4 ppg this season. Thompson has extremely good bounce.
The Titans have plenty of experience on the roster this season and should battle Mike Green and the Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach Saints. Both teams would love to dethrone the King Zion Williamson and the Griffins.
Trinity-Byrnes school is located in Darlington in the Pee Dee.
The Titans finished last season at 22-10 and fell in the the SCISA 2A State Tourney to Spartanburg Day School 72-67 in the semifinals.
