Recruiting Report: Ronell Giles (2019)
Ronell Giles, a class of 2019 guard at St. Vincent Pallotti, appears to be in line for a major boost in production. With the departure of Everette Hammond, expect Giles to burden some of that scoring load.
“I am a big guard who likes to get to the rim,” Giles stated. “I can make the three-point shot as well, and I like to get my teammates involved.”
We’ve seen Giles play on and off the ball both for Pallotti, and his AAU Club Team St8ment. He’s a very unselfish guard with some toughness.
“The most improved part of my game is my jump shot,” said Giles, who is one of the more underrated leaders we’ve seen in the class. “I put a lot of work into it.”
Giles is doing well in school at Pallotti, and has a strong 3.4 GPA. While no schools have offered yet, Giles is receiving interest from a host of division one programs.
“The schools that have been looking are JMU, Cal State Fullerton, Mount saint Mary’s, ODU, Kent state, and Hampton.”
Giles knows that in order to succeed at the next level he will need to work on getting stronger and faster. That will come as he continues to stay in the gym. What Giles bring to a college program?
“I can be a pretty good floor general for a college team. I can be a coach on the floor, and I can bring an all-around game.”
