Recruiting Report: Noah Pack (2019)
In just the past year, Noah Pack (2019) has began working on his perimeter skills at 6ā7ā. While the prospect still lines up at center for Georgetown High School, he showed off some true wing skills with OH-LBC last month at the Bill Hensley Run nā Slam in Fort Wayne.
As Pack continues adding versatility, while maintaining his rough playing style, expect teams to take notice. Right now, though, Mount Vernon Nazarene is the only collegiate program communicating with Pack.
āIāve received a few letters about going to camps … A coach at the Mount Vernon staff, heās talked to me about going there and visiting, and things like that,ā Pack said.
Coincidentally, Pack and the boys from Georgetownās varsity team will be participating in a team shootout at MNVU this coming weekend. While Pack seems to be looking forward to this coming weekend, he also hinted at the possibility of taking a visit to the campus at a later date.
āIāll probably take a visit. Iām just weighing my options right now because I donāt have many looks. Take whatever I can and make the best of it,ā Pack explained.
Some prospects name a number of attributes that theyāre looking for in a program. But at the moment for Pack, things look to be pretty simple.
āHoneslty, for me, if I can get a free education, Iāll go anywhere to play. If I can play basketball and get a free education, thatās a good deal for me,ā Pack said.
As far as high school educationĀ goes, Pack excels. He carriesĀ a 3.6 GPA. The incoming-junior hasnāt attempted the ACT quite yet.
As alluded to, Pack has lately been transitioning from a big, to more of a stretch option. His diversity in roles (between the grassroots and high school seasons) will allow him to improve in a range of areas, which is only opening up his game more.
āMy post moves are decently good, considering my height. Iād say for as tall as I am, Iām a decent ball-handler. So if I needed to, I could bring the ball up the court with better court-vision and see over everyone to make nice passes,ā Pack said.
Most of Packās answers during our interview made some mention of the team. Heās a high-IQ player at the forward spot, who understands how heās supposed to fit in to the collective goal of winning. And when it comes to winning at Georgetown, he understands that itās his job to lead that charge.
āThis past year, we had one of our best players, Logan Doss, he got hurt earlier in the season. So it was kind of, really on me to lead us to get points and everything. Then, towards the end of the year, he got better so some of that pressure was off. But I was mainly the guy to go to when we needed points … I take pride in it. I like being the guy where, if we need a bucket Iām the guy to get it,ā Pack explained.
Going forward, Pack hopes to get better at guarding small, quick guards. Heād also like to become more consistent as a shooter, especially from the free throw line. Scouts should strongly consider giving Pack a look with OH-LBC in June also.
