Recruiting Report: Kamari Williams (2019)
Kamari Williams, a class of 2019 wing at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School, is really coming into his own this summer after a strong run of play this spring with the DC Blue Devils. Williams is beginning to see an uptick in his recruitment, and that’s a direct reflection of the work he’s been putting in.
“I am a versatile stretch wing and a shooter,” Williams stated. “I try to provide a lot of energy at all times.”
Williams, son of former NBA first round pick Walt Williams, was highly productive at Maryland Team Camp. We saw him record an efficient double double, 13 points and 11 rebounds, with five blocked shots. Williams has really improved his all around game, but was always a very good shooter.
“I’ve improved at rebounding, attacking the basket, and blocking shots,” Williams explained. “I’m working on getting bigger and stronger.”
Williams has heard from VCU, Liberty, UAB, and Monmouth. It won’t be long before he receives his first offer, and don’t be surprised to see more schools should get involved. What can Williams bring to a college program?
“A lot of energy, and help my teammates to always have a positive attitude.”
Williams hit a team-high 34 threes last year at St. Andrew’s. With the departure of leading scorer Anthony Duruji, and knock down shooter Enzo Bascon, Williams is a strong candidate to see an uptick in production.
