Recruiting Report: (2018) Rashekem “Fresh” Ausar
Rashekem “Fresh” Ausar is a 5’10 point guard from Cleveland High School located in Seattle, Washington.
Fresh Ausar brings a breath of fresh air to point guard position. Standing at 5’10, Fresh is a powerful guard with incredible speed in transition. Once he blows by his defender help is most likely to slow to react. He is very crafty at creating space, which helps him at his height get his jump shot off with good balance and high release. As a Junior last year Fresh had some really big games and tallied season averages of 17ppg, 5apg and 3rpg a game earning him a spot on the all-conference honorable mention list, winning team MVP voted on by my coaches and teammates and leading his team to the district tournament in a very difficult conference.
With his high basketball IQ and ability to make others around him better. He is a good D2-NAIA recruit.
Here is a screen shot of his upcoming schedule.
Date Location Name of Event My Team Name
July 7-9 Seattle, WA Battle in Seattle Friends of Hoop 17u (FOH)
July 14-16 Bellevue, WA NW Premier Summer Showcase FOH 17u

My first encounter with the 5’10 guard was through email and my first impression of this kid is that he really cares about the quality of his education. He spoke more about his grades and his character than his game. You can respect that about a young kid. Most kids have that dream to play pro ball and that is as far as it goes. With this young man, he talks about life after the game and his future.
I asked him if we spoke to one of your coaches what would they say about you.
“I’ve been working hard to be a good student in the classroom, improving my grades year by year. Though I did not start on the best foundation, I have worked to finish strong. It is paying off, helping me to be well rounded. I recently received a citywide award for improvement in academics, nominated by one of my teachers. I feel that my coaches, parents and teachers are proud of the man I am becoming. They would tell you my work ethic and my passion for my future are my strongest traits.”
Friends of Hoop has been around since I was a young ball player. They have grown to become one of the top programs in the nation. How has your experience been with them?
“Yes! With an established program is, I knew it would be a good fit for me. My goal was to come in, learn the system and learn my teammates play. As a point guard, you have to know your personnel. Like other programs and teams, there are bumps and bruises along the way but we are now starting to really gel. July is going to be a big month for us especially it being the NCAA live viewing period. I hope to gain some interest. I am not too concerned with where I play. I just want to be a good fit for me.”
How is recruitment looking for you right now?
“I’ve been talking with some D2 Schools and Utah Valley, which I really enjoy. Also some low-major D1 schools in the south have shown interest.
