Prospect Spotlight: Robert Hardy (2018)
At Oldsmar Christian, rising seniors Elijah Weaver, Michael Durr, Akeil Shakoor and Matt Berry draw a lot of attention.
However, 2018 wing Robert Hardy deserves a bit more after another solid season as a junior. On top of that, 2019 forward Braxton Bartlett, a crafty outside shooter and passer has transferred over from Palm Harbor.
Hardy stands at 6’5″, 170 lbs. He calls his shooting and ball handling his biggest strengths. He’s aiming to finish at the rim better and be a more overall dominant player.
He had this to say about how his game improved in a year where Oldsmar Christian won the SIAA title.
“I learned to play with confidence and to be aggressive,” Hardy told Prep Hoops Florida. “My shooting grew the most and my role next season at Oldsmar will be to slash, attack the rim and play shutdown defense.”
Hardy joined Balkman Elite this summer. He says he’s focused on getting stronger and faster and is continuing to work on his jumper to be more consistent. He began his basketball life at age 10. He has no offers or interest as of yet.
Right now, it is evident that Hardy is a confident shooter and is really good when the ball in his hands. His length helps him get around defenders on outside shots or on drives to the basket. He’s an athlete who loves to throw down a powerful dunk. Look for Hardy to raise his game to new heights as a senior.
