Prospect Spotlight: Caleb Emeogo (2018)
Caleb Emeogo, a class of 2018 wing at Centreville, has caught our eye with solid play during the Flint Hill Summer League. The Wildcats graduated season’s second and third leading scorers, Marcus Mack and Tyler Lohman, leaving the door open for Emeogo to command a boost in production.
“I describe my game as a good defensive type of player and a good passer and can score when I get the chances,” Emeogo explained. “One thing I do that most don’t really see is my ability to get my teammates involved, and keep them locked in.”
At 6’2, Emeogo can defend a variety of positions on the perimeter, and play at the top of the press. He pairs well in the back court with offensive juggernaut Bryce Douglas, and has improved in a number of areas offensively.
“The most improved part of my game is shooting from the 3, and looking up the floor in transition,” said Emeogo. “I need to work on being more consistent shooting off the dribble.”
Randolph College is reportedly the only school looking at Emeogo right now. Given his ability to impact the game defensively, and his considerable improvements offensively, it will be interesting to see how Emeogo’s recruitment evolves from here. One thing we know is that Centreville will be a dynamic team, and Emeogo will be a central piece to their success this year. What can he bring to a college program?
“Defense, leadership, and be a great addition to a team.”
