NTBA Pre-Nationals Warmup: 2019 Standout Players
Angel Elite 2019 Forward Charles Massie: Probably the most athletic player at the event, Charles put on a show in the championship game when the team matched up with the Fayetteville Rockets. He plays strong inside and went for 20+ points with the majority coming inside the paint or at the elbow, he’s improving on knocking down the outside shot as well. If there was an award for the dunk of the day it would have to go to Charles has he threw down a vicious one hand dunk after coming up with a steal.
Fayetteville Rockets 2019 Guard Ricardo Polk: This young man is what we call a natural scorer, he doesn’t have to work too hard to get buckets, and he has a long wingspan and is another youngster that can stroke it from deep. One game in particular that impressed me was when his team was down by almost 20 and he went on a scoring run of his own to cut the lead big time.
Fayetteville Rockets 2019 Guard Chavon Mceachern: If you look up toughness in the dictionary you would see a picture of this young man in it, he is an absolute warrior on the floor. He’s short in stature but his muscle and toughness makes up for this height differential easily, he goes into the paint and mixes it up with the big men without a problem.
Angel Elite 2019 Guard E.J Bethea: E.J spent last seasons at Triton HS, he’s a player that should have a big time season for Fayetteville Academy as he recently transferred in. He’s a slashing type of guard that has an impressive ability to finish in traffic with either hand, once he adds some more muscle mass to his frame he will be a very nice college prospect.
Team Hoop Dreams 2019 Hector Rodriguez: Knock down shooter from deep, that doesn’t need many dribbles to get where he needs to go on the floor. He shot a very high percentage from deep and doesn’t play the game in a selfish manner at all.
