Javon Pickett to Mizzou
It has been quite a crazy last few weeks for Belleville East small forward Javon Pickett. The #5 prospect in the PrepHoopsIllinois final senior rankings decided to open up his recruitment after the coaching change at Illinois occurred. Pickett committed to the Illini during his junior season. After his decommittment he landed offers from an array of mid-major schools particularly picking up a lot of Missouri Valley interest.
We have confirmed Pickett has made his college decision. The 6’4” small forward has committed to Missouri where he will reclassify to be a 2018 recruit. What this means is Pickett has committed to play for the Tigers and will attend a year of prep school this upcoming school year.
What is Mizzou getting? They are getting an ultra-smooth scoring wing who consistently put up 20+ points per game every time we saw him play over the last few years. Has the ability to score at all three levels with ease. A year of prep school will allow him to physically prepare for the SEC by concentrating on getting stronger. We expect Pickett to be a very nice addition to Mizzou in the future!
