IPFW Shootout – 2020 and 2021 Standouts
IPFW Shootout Standouts
Class of 2020
Rickie Wedlow – 5’11” | G | Richmond High School
Wedlow looked good working with the ball in his hands and off ball screens. He had his defenders off balance and was getting into the lane regularly. His jump shot has shown improvement as he looked for it more frequently than last season. Rickie is set for another solid season with Richmond and will be the star scorer soon.
Kiyron Powell – 6’6” | F/C | Evansville Bosse High School
Powell was a menace inside the paint on both ends of the floor. He deterred shot after shot on the defensive end of the floor. Not only was he blocking shots, he was keeping them in play and often coming down with the rebound as well. His offensive game is showing improvement in his face up game but still needs work with his back to the basket.
Jalen Causey – 5’9” | PG | North Side High School
Jalen is a recent transfer from Bishop Luers to North Side and is still looking to find his role with this team. He is great as a ball handler and creator on the offensive side of the floor. Causey will most likely work off the bench this season but will bring energy, scoring, and defensive pressure when he hits the floor.
Jordan Moore – 5’10” | PG | North Side High School
Jordan Moore is looking to increase his role for this team and he looked good at IPFW. He got to the lane with regularity and created open shots for his teammates. Moore used his strong body to finish well around the rim and was pestering the opposing teams ball handlers the entire eighty-four feet from tip to final buzzer.
Adrian Scott – 6’0” | G | Northrop High School
Adrian Scott was tenacious on the defensive end for Northrop. He caused turnover after turnover as the point man on their full court press. His athleticism was on full display on the boards as well as in the deflection category. Scott has high school experience and is a returning player for the Bruins. Keep an eye on this one.
Class of 2021
Andrew Kroft – 6’1” | G | North Side High School
Kroft is a new addition to this North Side team and gave them good minutes coming off the bench at IPFW. He worked his way into the offense by creating movement and making plays going to the basket. He was most impressive on the defensive end of the floor and showed that he can guard at the varsity level.
Brenden Lytle – 5’9” | PG | Bishop Dwenger High School
Lytle worked off the bench as the back-up point guard but looked comfortable as a primary ball handler for the Saints. He helped break the press with smart passes and also showed that he has court vision with the way that he moved the ball on the fast break. Lytle will be a good player for this team this season as a freshman with a promising future.
Jayden Billingsley – 6’1” | G | Northrop High School
Jayden is an athletic and long guard prospect who showed improvements in his ball handling and finishing ability. He is still most comfortable as a slasher. Billingsley was aggressive going to the basket and ran the floor well in the open court and fast break. He rebounded at a high rate for a player in his position and showed bright spots on Thursday.
Cam Mitchell – 5’10” | PG | Northrop High School
Cam Mitchell was the guard that handled the ball the most for this team but also showed that he can knock down the deep ball with consistency. The lefty guard moved the ball well on the offensive end of the floor and stepped into some big shots for the Bruins. He looks as if he is still growing and may blossom into an intriguing guard prospect.
