IPFW Shootout – 2019 Standouts
IPFW Shootout Standouts
Class of 2019
Jamal Whiteside – 5’11” | PG | Lima Perry High School (OH)
Jamal was the primary ball handling guard for Lima Perry and he did it with confidence and aggression. Whiteside created shots for his teammates and scoring opportunities for himself off the bounce very well. His length allowed him to finish well inside the paint and he knocked down some jump shots from deep. Good guard prospect in Lima.
Jason Sneed – 6’3” | SG | Centerville High School (OH)
Sneed is a long, lanky two guard who knocked down the deep ball at a high rate at IPFW. His on-ball defense was also of note. His length and athleticism bothered opposing guards. Jason rebounded the ball well on both ends of the floor and created opportunities on offense with his movement on and off ball. Centerville plays well together.
Ryan Marchal – 5’9” | PG | Centerville High School (OH)
Ryan was the best on-ball defender of the shootout. He worked opposing guards eighty-four feet for the entirety of the games. Marchal is aggressive and strong even though he is an undersized guard. His comfort level as the primary ball handler was also noted. Marchal is an energy guy and will pace Centerville this upcoming season.
Jaivian Fowler – 6’6” | F | Grand Rapid Union High School (MI)
Fowler was one of the more intriguing prospects of the day. He has shown improvement in his ball skills, jump shot, lower body strength, and leadership. As a junior-to-be with two years of varsity experience, he demands the best out of his teammates. He controlled the glass on both ends of the floor and scored the ball from all three levels on offense.

Jayveon White – 5’10” | PG | Kokomo High School
Jayveon showed that he has been putting in work on his ball handling and passing in the off season. He looked more like a true point guard than he did last year as a sophomore. His jump shot is also looking better. White still needs to work on his lateral quickness on the defensive end and being a positive leader for this Kokomo team.
Hayden Smithey – 6’4” | G/F | Bishop Dwenger High School
Hayden is quickly becoming one of the best 2019 prospects in the Fort Wayne area. His jump shot is greatly improved and he gets to the rim with ease as proven by his 30+ point game late in the day. Smithey’s court vision and ball skills stood out as he created opportunities for his teammates to score while also filling lanes and making the correct pass.

Lucas Kroft – 6’4” | SG/SF | North Side High School
Although he wasn’t playing for North Side at the IPFW Shootout, he is a player of note for this team. Kroft brings scoring, defense, and a rebounding presence from guard position. His athleticism is improving along with his confidence in his advanced skill set. Will be a 2019 kid to keep an eye on as they look to make another state run.
Keion Brooks Jr. – 6’8” | SG/SF | North Side High School
Keion is arguably the best 2019 prospect in the State of Indiana. He was not at the shootout because of being at the NBPA Top 100 Camp in Charlottesville, Virginia but he has blown up on the recruiting scene here recently. He is one of the most dynamic scorers in the country and he is quickly improving other aspects of his game. Brooks will be a crucial piece to North Side’s success this season.
