Gonzaga Signs Brock Ravet (2019)
The rising junior verbally committed to Gonzaga on Friday, adding another in-state standout to the Zags’ 2019 recruiting class. The 2019 lead guard is a facilitator first and foremost. He has a solid feel for the game and makes quick passes to his teammates. Like how he is constantly moving without the ball. Plays with toughness and has leadership potential.
Ravet is an accomplished shooter, passer and ball-handler. Tim estimated his son has averaged approximately 31 points per game in two seasons. Ravet is a two-time Eastern Washington Athletic Conference MVP and was named the 2017 2B player of the year by the Associated Press.
After talking with the Gonzaga commit. Here is what he had to say about signing with the Zags.
“It was crazy, I didn’t really think it was real,” Ravet said. “It didn’t take any time to say yes. That’s been my dream school forever. It means a lot (receiving an offer from Gonzaga), knowing that I put in a lot of time and it’s starting to pay off,” Ravet said. “But it’s just the start. I have to keep working and getting better.”
Ravet led Kittitas High School to a Class 2B Washington state championship earlier this year, averaging 28.1 points per game and scoring 47 points in the championship game. I was impressed with him during his freshman year campaign, where he led all the state of Washington in scoring at 32.9 points per game.
It was fairly early in the recruiting process but Ravet also heard from Oregon State and Portland.
