CFCA Team Camp: Class of 2019 Standouts
New Life Christian 2019 PG Reggie Walton: Reggie brings the energy and intensity that you want from your starting PG, he loves to compete and doesn’t back down from any challenge. He’s a very gifted passer and looks to get teammates involved first before getting his own offense going, schools should take notice and begin to track. His IQ for the game is high and for the most part he kept his turnovers low while forcing the opposition into TO’s
New Life Christian 2019 Forward Darius Jones: Although he’s only about 6’3-64, he plays much bigger than that, he finishes well inside and can stretch the floor with is midrange jumper. He rebounds the ball at a high rate and understands how to box out well, already receiving D3 interest.
Cape Fear Christian 2019 Forward/Center Peter Olatunji: Peter has improved greatly since the last time we saw him play, he’s more comfortable in the post and has a nice soft touch. He knocked down the short corner jumper, converted on quite a few put back shots and was active on the offensive glass. One play that I was very impressed with was when he caught the ball at the elbow with his back to the basket, took a few dribbles to post up his defender and knocked down a smooth fade away jumper.
Cape Fear Christian Forward 2019 Marcus Owens: Marcus is another player that is new to the area but he’s adjusting to the game very well, he has solid height for a wing and is a versatile player. The more he plays the better he will be, it will just take time and work but he’s more than capable.
Cape Fear Christian 2019 Forward Dillion Butler: This is the 2nd time that I got to see Dillion play, he’s still getting the hang of things but you can’t teach what he brings to the table. He has a nice mixture of height, length and shooting ability from the wing.
