A closer look at the players who play the role of facilitator, leader on the floor, and know how to distribute the ball or score in the 2019 class for North Carolina.
Patrick Williams 6’5 PG West Charlotte-A big guard who has size, length , athleticism to go along with a great skill set and natural feel for the game. He can score off the dribble and is a match-up nightmare with his size. He can score over smaller guards and can take it in the paint and finish against bigs.
JC Tharrington 6’0 G Charlotte Christian/Team United-Brings exactly what you what from a PG on the floor, hes a low turnover player that makes the simple play instead of the spectacular play. He brings defensive energy and is a very good communicator with his teammates and coaches. Shoots the deep ball very well but doesn’t settle for that , good passer.
Lavonte Knox 6’0 PG Lincoln Charter-A skilled guard who has great court vision along with a quick first step and the ability to create his own shot off the dribble. He is quick in transition and has the ability to get by defenders and distribute the basketball to his teammates.
Myles Pierre 6’0 G Carmel Christian/Metrolina Hawks-Another player that can shoot the ball very well from deep, in the game we saw him play he knocked down a high amount of trey ball in a short period of time. Gets to the rim and finishes very well, has received four division one offers at this point.
Demetrius Martin 6’1 G Garinger HS-An athletic guard that can make plays above the rim on both ends of the floor. Plays the game with high energy, has good ball-handling skills and a quick first step that he uses to get by defenders.
Malcolm Morgan 5’8 G Independence/Team Charlotte Plain and simple, this young man knows how to win games. He isnt the tallest player, but he plays with the type of energy that makes you completely overlook his size. Helped lead his team deep into the playoffs just about every season since he’s been playing varsity basketball. proven winner.
Jalen Benjamin 5’8 PG Leesville Road-This young man has a chance to be absolutely special, do not be surprised to see a huge jump in his ranking in the upcoming weeks. He is a fantastic ball-handler and an absolute nightmare for defenders to try and contain, also a knock down shooter from deep.
