2018 Under the Radar Names to Know
A look at some of the 2018 under-the-radar prospects that you will be hearing about in the next few months as the high school season kicks off again.
Arshon King 6’5 CG EE Smith/Fayetteville Magic-Can be as good as he wants to be when he’s locked in, can handle the ball, is athletic, can score from inside and out. Has to bring consistent effort on D but has all the tools.
DaMar Sutton 6’4 W Northeastern HS/NC Blazers -Solid wing prospect, can knock down shots from deep at a high rate, defends the PG and SG well, knows how to get to the basket without over dribbling.
Rafeal Jenkins 5’9 PG United Faith/Nike South Beach-He plays the game with a chip on his shoulder and doesn’t back down from any challenge. When you combine his silky smooth handle with the ability to finish around bigs and his ability to knock down the trey ball, you have a player that colleges at the D1 level should definitely be on.
Deland Thomas 6’1 SG Rosman-Smooth shooting guard that can light it up from outside, has a good handle and can defend the point guard spot.
Aaron Cash 6’6 SF Word of God/Team Loaded VA-Super hard-working power forward thats an excellent producer in the front court. Cash, who thrived in the open court, uses his athleticism to create transition opportunities by consistently coming up with impact plays on the defensive end.
Maurice Wilcox 5’10 CG Neuse Christian/WCBA Robinson-He gets to the basket and finishes at the rim, knocks down free throws, finds open teammates for assist, and can knock down NBA range 3 pointers.
Jimmie Sanders 5’9 PG Wayne Country Day/Red Storm-Can flat out play and get the job done against all levels of competition. No matter who has been in front of him, Jimmie competes, scores the ball at a high level, commands the respect of his teammates, runs the show and makes games competitive with any team he sets foot on the floor with.
