Top Utah Performers (NW Premier Invitational)
Several teams from Utah participating in the Northwest Premier Invitational in Boise, Idaho this past weekend. The top performing team was Cache Valley Elite out of Logan, Utah. In route to their semi finals finish Cache Valley Elite beat Seattle Pride, Washington Elite, and Seattle Pride Elite before losing to Idaho Select. Here are the top performers from all of the Utah Teams.
Traycer Wilson 6’7 (2017) (Cache Valley Elite) The long athletic forward put on a show all weekend with his impressive play. He was able to take other bigs off the dribble and finish through contact. I was impressed with his shooting ability and ball handling. Wilson would be a great stretch four at the high NAIA level.
James Nelson 6’5 (2018) (UBC) shot the ball very well during pool play and has shown his ability to play the wing position. He has a consistent jumper from deep and a solid pull up game. If Nelson can improve his ball handling and quickness he will be a player to watch in the class of 2018.
Skyler Turner 6’6 (2018) (801HOOPS) the forward had an impressive tournament before coming down with an ankle injury. He shot the ball well from the mid-range and he also had several post moves that were effective. Turner had several NAIA schools show interest in him.
Rich Stucki 6’9 (2018) (Davis) the big man showed that he come along way over the years. The thin frame forward has a nice skill set to work with and can finish around the basket consistently. Stucki also has a solid mid-range jumper that has makes him tough to guard. I think he can be a d2 prospect if he continues to work on his skills and hits the weight room.
Steven Price 6’6 (2017) (Salt Lake Rebels) is a freak athlete and is hard to stop in transition when he has a head of steam. He will most effective at the wing spot at the next level. Price has not signed anywhere and one of the best unsigned senior in the state of Utah.
