Team Melo 17 & U roster:
#1 Demetrius Mims Jr, G/WF, 6’5″ 175, Baltimore, MD, PolyHS, 2018.
Demetrius won a 4A Maryland State Title this past season for an excellent Poly Vocational HS in Baltimore, MD. He is an elite defender, very diverse offensively, has a very good handle, & can slash while his perimeter game is improving. We believe Demetrius who is currently ranked as a 3 star, could reach 4 star status. To date Demetrius has offers from St. Johns and VCU.
Prep Hoops Senior Writer said this about Demetrius at the Capital Hoopfest tournament on 4-6-17, “Demetrius Mims impressed with his positive attitude, and willingness to defend virtually any position on the floor. Mims shot the ball well from the perimeter this weekend, and his confidence is growing as he continues to improve in that aspect.”
Below is a video of Demetrius in his sophomore year at Poly :

Senior Writer Todd Rushing wrote this very good Recruiting Report for Demetruis:
#2 Anthony Higgs, F 6’8″ 215, Baltimore, MD Perry Hall HS, 2018.
Anthony and Team Melo teammate Anthony Higgs won a Maryland State 3A title for the Perry Hall Gators this year for the Baltimore suburb school. Anthony is an excellent rebounder, with rim protection skills, & he runs the court very well with 3 point range. We believe Anthony is legitimate D1 recruit and his only made public offer to date is Old Dominion University.
Adam Ayalew wrote the following excellent Recruiting Report for Anthony Higgs on 3-27-17.

#3 Brendan Adams, PG 6’4″ 185, Hanover, MD Calvert Hall HS, 2018.
Brendan is now a 4 star & top 100 player for 2018. He has numerous offers which include Columbia, Stanford, GWU, Rhode Island, Kansas State, Minnesota, St, Joseph, St. Bonaventure, St. Joseph, Towson State & more coming. Brendan can score from all 3 levels, is an excellent facilitator and can defend. We believe his Calvert Hall HS team will be a top team in the Maryland / DC area this season.

#4, Tyree Meyers, PG, 6’0″,170. Baltimore, MD, Mt. St. Joseph HS, 2018.
Tyree recorded 15 assists in Team Melo’s win over U Play Canada last Saturday. He played last season at powerful Mt. St. Joseph Gaels HS on what many believe was the #2 team in Maryland /DC. MSJ had 3 highly ranked 4 & 5 star players for 2017, 2018 & 2019 last season as the Gaels finished @ 36-4 with 2 losses by a combined 3 points and another to Max Preps #8 team in the nation, Gonzaga HS of Washington, DC. Thus Tyree was somewhat overshadowed, but when we saw him play we knew Tyree was a fine ball player and recruit. Tyree displayed very nice PG skills with a nice shooting stroke and mid range game. We will be watching him closely this spring, summer and fall.
#5 Nate Roberts, PF, 6’10” 210, Edgewater, MD, Brewster Academy, NH, 2018.
Nate is starting to become a force for Team Melo after dealing with an injury earlier in April. He is very close to 6’10” and is an outstanding prospect with offers from Syracuse, St. Johns, U Conn, Cincinnati, and Georgia. He previously played at John Carroll HS in Maryland, but transferred to Brewster Academy in New Hampshire last season. Nate is a very versatile left handed forward who runs the court very well, possesses a nice shooting stroke & mid range game, and is expanding his shooting range to the 3 point line. He is a 3 star recruit ranked in the top 160 players in the nation, but has potential to move into the top 100.

# 6 LaQuil Hardnet, ComboF, 6’8″, 210, Baltimore, MD, Perry Hall HS, 2018.
LaQuill is an excellent prospect at a legit 6’8″ who plays Point Forward & could develop into being able to play some PG. He has improved his shot and now can hit the 3 pointer & he is excellent at breaking down the defense and getting to the rim. To date ECU, Towson State, and Radford have offered LaQuill and we expect more offers to come for this talented combo forward.

#8 Noah Locke, WG, 6’3″ 180, Randallstown, MD McDonough School (MD), 2018 .
Noah is having a great spring for Team Melo and he is currently ranked in the top 140 payers in the nation, but in our opinion will soon crack the top 100. He is a an excellent jump shooter who gets very high elevation off the dribble with very deep range or can spot up on 3s. We believe Noah is one of the best jump shooters in the East Coast. He can get to the rim and he is an underrated defender. Noah has received many D1 offers which include Notre Dame, Clemson, Providence, Florida, Xavier, Kansas State, Penn State, Cincinnati, St. Joe’s, East Carolina, Tulsa, USC, UNCG, Rice, La Salle, George Mason, Georgia Tech, George Washington, Virginia, Kansas State, Penn State, Providence, Rice Minnesota, Marquette, Pitt, and ODU. Maryland & Georgetown are showing interest.

#11 Montrell Horsey, PG, 6’2″, 185, Edgewood, MD Joppatowne HS, 2018.
Montrell is a proven facilitator, ball handler and can score from all 3 levels. He is very crafty with his dribble penetration and will mix it up on 50-50 balls. As a junior Montrell has already eclipsed 1,000 points scored for Joppatowne. He has received offers from James Madison University and Cal State Nothridge to date and we expect to come soon for this talented PG.
Senior Writer Adrew Kuhla wrote this nice Recruiting Report for Montrell on 1-13-17.

#13 Koran Moore, PF/C, 6’9″, 260, Baltimore, MD St. Frances Academy, 2018.
Koran currently holds offers from USC and Dayton and we expect more to come this spring. He has very good agility for a young man his size and is very good in the paint. We expect his St. Frances Academy HS team to be one of the best in the state of Maryland this year.
Senior Staff Writer Adam Ayalew had this to say about Koran after the 2018 Capitol Hoop Fest on 4-8-17, “Koran Moore is a high energy big man with good size at 6’9. Moore runs the floor, crashes the offensive glass, and actively contests shots at the basket. More will need to become more a bit productive offensively, but that will come as his fitness continues to improve.”
Koran celebrates huge win over #1 Mt. St. Joseph with teammate Daquan Bracey, Photo courtesy of Baltimore Sun.
#14 Ike Nweke, F 6’7″, 210, Bethesda, MD Georgetown Prep HS, 2018.
Ike is an excellent athlete with great explosion and he is having a great spring for Team Melo. He has been a force on the glass where he is leading Team Melo in rebounding at over 6 per game in just 12 minutes per game of playing time. Ike has received offers from New Hampshire, Army (West Point) and Brown.
This spring Senior Writer Adam Ayalew wrote this very nice Prospect Highlight article for Ike:
