Team Melo 17 & U records 2-2 record at Nike EBYL Session III, but plays very well.
Despite a 2-2 record in Nike EBYL Session III, Team Melo played very well, and lost 2 games by a combined 5 points. Team Melo’s overall record is now 9-7 with 5 losses by 4 points or less & one by 5.
L Team Florida 67, Team Melo 66. Team Melo lost a heart breaker to Team Florida which was very close down to the wire. Team Florida was led 6’10” 2019 F Vernon Carey (University HS, FL) ranked #2 nationally who totaled 20 p0ints on 8-12 FGs and grabbed 3 rebounds. 6’2″ 2019 PG, Kyle Sturdivant ranked @ #140 in the nation who many believe will crack the top 100 very shortly added 11 points & 7 assists. 6’3″ 2018 G Trey Doomes scored 10 points on 4-5 FGs and handed out 4 assists. 6’8″ 2019 F Trendon Watford (Birmingham, AL) ranked #12 in the nation,added 7 points & 4 rebounds, and Top 250, 6’7″ 2018 F KJ Bluffen chipped in with 6 points. Brendan Addams had a big game for Team Melo scoring 13 points with LaQuil Hardnett collecting a team high 9 rebounds. Noah Locke and Wynston Tabbs had very solid games with 16 & 9 points receptively. Tyree Myers added 8 points & 6 assists while Ike Nweke scored 10 points. Tyree & Ike are 2 of the biggest stock risers in Maryland this spring.
W Team Melo 65 Portland BC (OR) 61. Team Melo played very poorly in the 1st half falling behind by more than 10 points, but pulled out a W. Noah Locke was deadly hitting 8 of 9 shots, including 3-3 from deep for a game high 19 points. Noah is having a huge spring and national stock riser who in our opinion should be ranked in the Top 90. LaQuil Hardett converted on all 6 of his shots for 14 points & grabbed 6 rebounds and Wynston Tabbs (nursing minor injury) added 11. LaQuil who had some minor physical injury is now starting to break out and will be ranked in the Top 250. His Maryland State 4 A Champion Perry Hall HS teammate, Anthony Higgs who is ranked at #260 had 8 points and 6 rebounds for Team Melo. Portland was led by 6’9″ Kempa Hepa (Alaska) who is ranked #39 nationally for 2018 , 14 points & 8 rebounds. 5’9″ 2019 PG Elijah Gonzalez added 12 points, 8 rebounds & 6 assists, and 2018 6’7″ F Teagan Quitoriano’s 14 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.
W Team Melo 81 Nike South Beach (FL) 80. 6’10” Nate Roberts posted his best game this spring with 15 p0ints on 6-8 FGs & 11 rebounds, and LaQuill Hardnett recorded a double double with 11 boards & 10 points, & added 5 assists. Noah Locke hit 5 of 9 3 pointers for 22 points & his back-court mate Wynston Tabbs added 11 points. Tyree Meyers scored 5 points & added 3 assists & 3 rebounds while Brendan Adams scored 8 points with 3 rebounds & 3 assists. 6’8″ 2018 SF & 5 star 7 ranked # 9 in the nation, Khavon Moore (Westside HS, Macon Ga) was limited to 5-21 FGs, but grabbed 11 rebounds, 6’4″ 2018 Michael Devoe who leads South Beach in scoring @15 ppg & is ranked in the Top 150 players nationally had a huge game with 10-17 FGs for 31 points. 2018 6’7″ F Serrel Smith who is ranked @ 240 nationally but will be moving up after growing 4 inches 7 playing very well. scoring 11 points & added 3 assists & rebounds. 6’7″ 2018 F Darruis Days of the Rock HS who is rated in the nations top 80 did not play.
L Boo Williams (VA) 61 Team Melo 57. Boo Williams & Team Melo know each other very well since both teams are in close proximity and are 2 of the more tlaented teams on the 2017 Nike Circuit. Team Melo led at the half by 1 point & the game went own to the wire. LaQuill Hardnett once gain had a big game for Team Melo, converting on 7-10 shots & grabbing 6 rebounds. Wynson Tabbs hit 3 of 5 from 3 and scored 13 points, but leading scorer Noah Locke totaled 8 points in limited minutes. Brendan Adams scored 4 points and collected 5 boards & Tyree Meyers added 5 assists & 4 points. Boo Williams 6’4″ 2018 SG Keldon Johnson (Huntington Prep WV) who is approaching Top 10 status hit 8 of 15 shots for 18 points, collected 10 rebounds, 2 assists and had 2 steals. 6’7″ 2019 Forward Aundre Hyatt (Miller School), ranked#44 nationally added 17 points, scored 11 points & collected 7 rebounds. 2018 6’7″, 270 pound bruising PF Forward, Anderson Mirambeaux ( Teays Valley, WV) who is an emerging national player, collected 7 rebounds & scored 11 points for Boo Williams. 2021 5’11” phenom Zion Harrison (Bowling Green, KY) who has had some huge games, scored 6 points without forcing the issue. 2018 6’5″ G Jason Wade who plays fro Trinity Episcopal in Richmond, VA grabbed 9 rebounds & scored 5 points. Trinity finished 2107 ranked #12 in the nation and could easily be a top 10 team this coming season. Jason already holds 11 D1 mid major offers while Boo Williams improved to 13-3 tying them wioth best record overall this spring.
