Stock Risers: 2018 Guard Prospects
With the spring about over, we are taking a look at some of the top prospects from around the state. Many have improved since this last high school period and we are here to highlight those. Here are our 2018 Stock Risers this spring.
Hayden Langkabel – 6’1 | PG | Morristown (IN) | Indiana Legends 2018 – Langkabel has been one of the hottest players this spring. He’s a guy that can score at a high level and has done it all spring long against a ton of different levels of talent and athletes. He’s proven his scoring is legit and that is what has made him coveted.
Jalan Mull – 6’0 | PG | Blackhawk Christian (IN) | OPS 2018 – Mull is a guy that has been unknown for a while but has really taken shape the last year. He’s grown and become a dominant distributor, allowing his teams to find success by getting everyone involved. Still needs more offense but he’s easily one of the most improved players in the state.
Dylan Penn – 6’2 | PG | 2018 | Evansville Memorial (IN) | Pocket City 2018 – Penn is a guy that has grown as well. A couple inches in the past year have really made him an intriguing guard to watch moving forward. Has a good three-point shot and tons of length on the perimeter. Could really make a name for himself with his play this spring.
Austin Boucher – 6’2 | SG | 2018 | Fort Wayne North (IN) | G3 Grind 2018 – Boucher is back in the state and really a different player. He’s much more calmed down and under control with his shot selection. That has gone a long way. Still needs to work on the ball handling and vision but he’s easier to play with and gives great energy on the floor.
Dean Tate – 5’9 | PG | 2018 | Warren Central (IN) | EG10 2018 – Tate has really been playing at a high level since about mid-way through the high school season. He’s still on the shorter side but he’s played well on the Adidas Gauntlet with his three-point shot. With his proven ability to make a jumper at that level, he could be a solid point guard option.
Myja White – 6’1 | PG | 2018 | Brebeuf Jesuit (IN) | EG10 2018 – Myja has improved a ton this spring. He’s become a more dominant scorer and his shooting the ball really well. He’s always been solid on offense but the mindset to take over the game wasn’t there before. It is now and he is putting up big numbers.
